A. Rodda Tempranilloo 2015
Making Tempranillo was never Adrians intention when he moved to Beechworth. However, after walking through the Aquila Audax Vineyard and comparing its climatic indices to that of Ribero del Duero in Spain, he was intrigued and the experiment started.
The fastidious viticultural approach by Vineyard Owner/Operator Mark Walpole (ex-Brown Brothers Viticulturist) combined with the shaly, mudstone soils at 580 metres above sea level results in high quality Tempranillo grapes even in cool seasons.
Dark Red Nose Red and black berry aromas with hints of violets, some forest leaf notes and spice.Palate Red and darker berried fruit flavours in the lively medium-bodied palate that is predominantly savoury, with balanced acidity and structure.Food Pairing Slow cooked shoulder of lamb. Cellaring 3-5 Years Notes Fruit was sourced from a Beechworth vineyard planted in 1997.
